I spose this thread is useless.

But whatever, its fun... don't take stuff like your eternal soul so seriously folks.

And didn't they "re-center" the SAT like 5 or 8 years ago to make the average 1000 again instead of 900?

Well.

Before the re-centering I got a 1400.

And am an Atheist (parents are Jewish).

well i'm kind of curious, but i doubt we'll get too many honest answers. i mean, if there was some christian who had a low ass score, would he/she really post it? same thing goes for both sides....

shrug.

Well, I was thinking to myself "I bet the average person on anandtech is smarter than the average person you'd find at a supermarket." Then I looked at some of the religion polls, 40% atheist here approximately. According to popular belief, atheists constitute 11% of the US population. Think about that.

I don't think religious zealotry has anything to do with intelligence. However, one observation I can make (from observing various religion-based forum threads on www.bearshare.net/forum) is that those who argue the case for "atheism" tend to do so with logic, whereas those who argue the side for Christianity tend to do so with emotion and dogma. Is there enough to go on to draw conclusions? I don't think so...

Of COURSE religious zealotry has something to do with intelligence. Intelligent people tend to question things, religious people are more likely to accept something on faith.

My mommy told me that I am smarter than you cause my religion is better. Dude grow up and beliefs/religion really dont play any part in this.

This should be locked.

<< I asked a bunch of people earlier, here are the results.

RESULTS!
>>

great sample size on that one. Of the millions of people that take the SATs you are using 14 reponses to prove your point

Minendo, aside from just blindly ripping me, why dont you attempt to explain what I said in the earlier post?

What i *don't* understand are the crys for this thread to be locked?

It isn't offensive, it can do no harm, and the results can be interesting.

Maybe Mormons have an average SAT of 1460? I mean, didn't South Park confirm that Mormonism was "right" ?

And no one is saying the SAT is a super measure of intelligence. So post, coz I'm curious too.

lol, minendo, instead of clamoring for the thread to be locked, maybe you should convince your peers to post their religion/score. It should be very interesting.
