What does religion have to do with intelligence? And why are you even worrying about it. It seems to me you have a need to feel superior to people who believe in a God. Maybe if you dedicated a fraction of your obviously magnificent mind on something significant, you wouldn?t need to worry over other peoples beliefs or lack thereof. 😛
 
Dude, you take those 2 'tards outta the religious side and it gets alot closer. For those results to have any meaning you need just a 'slightly' larger test pool, try upwards of 1000. Statistics my friend... Your standard deviation must be nice and high with only 14 people.... If i actually was halfway awake right now id try and figure it out...

guys guys, why are you so quick to flame this guy? i really think it would be interesting. nobody is saying that religous people are stupid or anything, it's just a simple question. maybe the thread title could have been changed to something else, but seriously... stop being so goddamned pc! if you think religion doesn't have anything to do with it, then great, post your stuff, and wait for the results to see if you're right!

btw, high sat score does not necessarily equal "smart".

What if ya got it backwards... What if a belief in a religion (or athiest) makes your iq higher or lower?? Like for instance what peeps were saying before. If your athiest you tend to question things more, thus raising your intelligence... and Vice versa....
 
btw, alastor, you should probably make a poll for this... i'm not sure how many people are willing to post their scores. not many from the looks of it...

I just wonder why you seem to feel the need to question people?s intelligence based on a belief in a god. Do you compare vegetarians to meat eaters, Smokers and Nonsmokers, Hippies and Hobo?s? 😕
 
Are us Agnostics considered religious??

I mean i dont believe in any of the religions because i question ALL of it, but i also believe that there might be something there, just dont know what...

Can you make a seperate part of the poll for Agnostics (were sorta in the middle in my opinion)

Gopunk, I just got done reading some of the rants on your site, I agree on all of em! And guess what, I bet people who smoke, are on average, DUMBER, than people who don't. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

This thread's getting interesting. I'm agnostic, eat lots and lots of meat (mmmMMmmm meat GOOD, love meat, must eat more meat), and can't remember my SAT scores, since that was like 15 years ago or so..

One of the people I work with is a born-again Christian type, and we had a nice conversation one night. He was totally unable to comprehend my position that I could care less whether God exists or not. He kept asking "but what about what happens after you die?". In my opinion, no religion that forces you to accept certain conditions in order to attain a pleasant afterlife is worth believing in. To me, religion is a waste of mental energy. If God does exist, would I worship Him (or Her)? Why?

yeah yeah yeah, "I dont test well". I've heard it 100 times. I only use the SAT, because the vast majority of people take it, and it is a relatively accurate measurement of intelligence. Why are people afraid, intimidated, or too whatever to post their score/religion?
 
No the SATs are more a test on knowledge than seeing how intelligent you are. A person with a good memory will do good on the SATs. An IQ test would be more accurate but those still aren't great. Autistic children can score genius level on those.

Why should they? It?s an ignorant question. You obviously think that people who believe in a God are idiots. Plus you might be trying to keep some kind of secret database on religious people, so you can hunt them down for your evil atheistic rituals. 😉

All the poll shows is a bunch of atheists lying about their SAT scores.😉 And I didn?t call you ignorant I said it was an ignorant question. And I?m still wondering why you?re even asking the question. Either you?re insecure in your own beliefs or you want to feel superior to someone else. 😕
