I am currently using ASUS MB, and have used GIGABYTE one in the past. Not sure about ASROCk.

Any user with their genuine opinion ?

I personally love ASRock boards. They are cheaper then the competition and usually offer more features for the $. They used to only make cheap boards back in the LGA 775 days but more recently they've focused on offering more premium products at a better price point than the competition.

I've used many of their boards and they seem to offer some of the quickest POST times available and their firmware settings in my opinion are better laid out then Gigabyte and MSI's.

Also they don't usually use garbage MOSFETs on AMD boards like MSI does either...

I generally buy ASUS but I did pick up a micro-atx LGA-1155 Asrock motherboard 3 years ago from a cheap Microcenter combo cpu+motherboard deal and I've had no issues with it the past 3 years. And the bootup time is super fast for me. About 30 secs to get to the windows 7 login screen with an SSD. Its in a HTPC, so I did not try any overclocking.

I recently did a build with a Asrock X99 Extreme4. No problems so far

#3 overall behind ASUS and Gigabyte.

Must be okay.

As brands I consider them pretty much equal. Any opinion on which is "best" will depend on the specific board in question. I've used all three brands, and had issues with all three.

I will say Asrock in general tends to have a better feature/$ ratio to the others. ASUS tends to have better OS software and fan control. Gigabyte does not really have any distinguishing features, they tend to just make solid boards that work. Nothing more and nothing less.

BTW MSI is pretty good too. They just tend to have more issues with their boards then the others.

Yes, they're fine.

Usually. (YMMV, because, well, stuff breaks. We know this.)

I seem to end up buying them as often as not.

I found ASRock using cheaper and lower-quality materials than Asus and Gigabyte. They're a little more cheaply-made. Measure them on the scale, ASRock always weigh a little less than Asus and Gigabyte.

For example, ASRock N68C-GS4 FX board with both AM2/AM3 combo support uses only white plastic pins to hold the heatsink, plus cheap capacitors on top of socket. They do explode in some reports I read.

Gigabyte is my default choice, unless they have bad reviews (X99 UEFI issues) then I default to Asrock. MSI isn't stocked where I buy my parts and Asus is a ripoff. You are paying for the name. ECS/Biostar are frisbee crap. I do agree that Asrock boards are built cheaper but if it works . . . . . porn box is on a Gigabyte H81M-S2H and gaming box is an Asrock X99 Extreme 4.

I think the bottom-end of ASRock boards are pretty average in terms of longevity and component choice. My brother's N68 C-S UCC failed on him after 4 years service lifetime. Also, ASRock used push pins to lock CPU plate rather than screws like other competitors. That said, it's 50 dollars anyway, so I wouldn't complain about it.

On the other hand, I think ASRock's mid-end/high-end is as robust as other brands. For example, my ASRock 970 Extreme3 is still running strong with mild 955 3.2@3.7G OC. ASRock UEFI is better than Gigabyte's counterpart. Software is pretty good though not best.

Just my 2 cents. Frankly, I buy every brands in the industry.

I bought the ASRock H97M Pro4 motherboard, and I'm very happy with it, insane boot times with an ssd, good software for support and very good quality for the price.

They used to be an ASUS company who sold lower tier motherboards, but I think they are a different company now.

What about ASROCK H91m-S1 PLUS? Bad quality?

Rubbish. ALC 662, no front panel USB 3, 2 USB 3 on the back is stingy even for the price. The H81 board I have has all that that and more plus a way better audio codec implementation.

I have the Asrock X99 Extreme 11 and it's definitely well made. Less on the visual frills though and more on the features.

ASRocks are good cheap medium oc boards.
If you dont do any thing too stressful asrock mb are not bad for the price.
Every Asrock I buy is better then the last one.
My first ASrock was a ASRock Extreme 930x200 at 4200Ghz which had problems above 1.31 vcore.
Next I get Pro3-68 wih 2500k as soon cpu hits 71-73c the throttling starts from the poor VRMs without heatsinks I even added fans on the wb screws to help without any luck.
Last my z77 extreme 4 runs prime at 4500 with 1.288 volts and was the best of my ASRocks.

Hey I just ordered this board , I tried the front panel connectors and it didn't work. They are sending me another one. Could you tell me how the connectors work on this board. Maybe I plugged one in wrong or back words.

I have the full ATX version - H97 Pro4 I bought in January and it works great. I love the onboard realtek 892 audio with elna caps. It sounds better than the Asus board it replaced with the same 892 codec.

The BIOS is far better than what my Asus H81m-E workstation has.

I've always heard Asrocks are good, never have used one honestly.

I used to use Gigabytes, but having caps turn green on them and die in the past I went with ASUS full time for a long time now.

I doubt a Gigabyte still does that these days, but I still have always stuck to Asus boards myself.

My two cents.

They been my number one choice for the last couple of years since MSI turned to be rubish the last couple of rigs I did with them.
I build quite few pc's every year and now my choice goes either Asrock or Asus.

I've been extremely happy with asrock. I think the MSI have better build but I love the asrock bios (hate msi bios). I purchased my last msi board for a long time 6 months ago (the board runs fine but the bios drives me up a wall); asus has always been ok (for myself) but over priced and I hear support is a pia if you need them (on the other hand they paid the rabte timely). I will say that both asrock and msi answer email support accurately and promptly (promptly means within 48 hours).

I haven't used a gigabyte in a while so no comment but from reviews the bios looks a bit something or other.
