I sometimes get them and sometimes npt, I aint overclocking and running everything at stock, I have a NV silencer that is making poor contact with the ram on my card and I am ordering a zalman in a few days.

are these artifacts going to go away, friday I gamed all night problem free, saturday I gamed but not much and all of a suddun my desktop started getting garbled and rthdribl was generating artifacts, then I changed drivers and cleaned out my card and it was fixed so I gamed all night saturday problem free and I went for a round of BF2 and had artifacts right off, rthdribl shows artifacts but no all the time.
sooo
is this fixable, is it due to bad contact of the silencer and ram?

1. Better Case Cooling
2. Better Card Cooling
3. Lower Overclock if Overclocked are the best cures.

Yes its curable. But in fact it shouldnt be happening at stock speed.

how can I tell if thecard is broken? I havr good airflow and the temps are

core 53
ambient 41

**EDIT**
I rolled back my drivers to the ones that came with BF2 and now no artifacts, does this seem normal?

Game it for a good 20-30 mins and see if the artifacts come back.

I dont know if there is a Video Memory Test out there to make sure the memory on the card is ok.

If you get artifacts and it seems to get worse the more you play I would RMA it since you are running stock. It shouldnt do that at all.

sometimes they come back and somtimes they dont, I gamed earlier fine for about an hour, but shortly after that I started getting them again, now I aint getting them but for some reason I think that they will be back. any ideas, has anybody cured this with ramsinks?

Yeah I would also suggest RMA'ing it. You might just have a bad card, in which case no amount of ramsinks and fans will cure it.

Try putting the stock one back on, and RMAing it. It's worth a try, and you didn't really do anything to it to void the warranty besides changing your heatsink.
(Also maybe try the stock one instead of the NV silencer to see if that works better--it's worth a try! 🙂)

man I am so confused, my card is running great now, but earlier it was running like poooop artifact city, what gives. I have run rthdrtbl for 30 minsolid and the temp didnt get higher than 65.
maybe it fixed itself
