Black is a good solid performance none can say otherwise. But I would like to see AMD retake lead to see what happens to black. We all know but. It would have to be proved. FXblack $1000.

... sez the guy with an Intel q6700 quad at 3.5GHz and 71c, 71c, 60c, 60c under Prime95

:) I was joking. And now it's 71,71,66,66, since there was a problem with RealTemp. But yes, I'm really struggling with this sucker to get it past 3.5ghz. Maybe if it was black...;)

I wouldn't trust the "reviewers" on Newegg. They are generally not terribly bright with regards to PC-related matters, although they think they are.

My favs are the **Tech Level: high** reviewers who downgrade an AMD chipset 2 eggs because they can't Crossfire their nVidia cards ...

BEs are just dandy. No scam. No fuzzy math. Simply an unlocked CPU multiplier. Combined with the sb750 (to improve overall system timings and stability when OC'ing) 25-30% on good air is nominal.

Going 25 - 30% OC with the IMC/NB (in addition to the cpu) and yah got yerself a high-flyer ...

Errr......what?

I for one learned and approve of fuzzy maths.

Whatever happened to all the rumor/speculation swirling around that AMD was going to bring back the FX moniker and release some 3.5GHz+ whoopass?

Is that still coming or is the 955 BE expected to be the top-end SKU?

PowerVR is making a hugh statement with there new 2-16 core Gpus. Apple and Power VR Imagination. Are working hard on opencl for it. This is on hand held devicies. At those res. Physics raytracing are possiable and Apple/Vr are working on that. Never mind grand central that will work with all those cores on other apps based on C+or Cl. I am thinking my next upgrade will be a hand held! LOL?

I think I just figured out who keeps sending me all those weird emails with random words! (...)

Could it play counter strike?
My 940 touches 3.7 with 1.35v, although it wouldn't get to 3.8 with any voltage I'm willing to test out. Phenoms run hot, expecially the old ones. Even the P2's wouldn't overclock (well) without a half decent sink. although a 3.7GHz quad core for $350 isn't bad (living in Australia, inc. cost of a $40 HSF)
