Are all USB extension cables the same?

I would trust monoprice cables over some generic brand, but as Insert Nickname said, if its advertised as usb2 cable it work.
Also looked at the customer reviews, 1 uses it as a extention cable for charging and xbox360 controller and another uses it on an iphone 4.

so you should be good

If all the contacts are connected properly and the wire size is big enough there shouldn't be any problems passing enough current.

I have about a half dozen of these - different lengths and makers - never have had a problem passing specified charges.

Depends on what you are plugging into what. Lots of USB devices are not quite spec as far as power draw goes and lots of USB ports, particularly laptop or low end desktop, do not deliver quite the advertised power. Normally everything manages to get away with it, but for long extensions issues can show up. If the device on the other end is behaving flakey just stick a powered USB hub int he middle.
