You know an orthopod has two years of clinicals, six years of intership, then a one or two year fellowship. So 8 years of hands on experiace before they can touch you unsupoerised. Plus they are chosen from the top 10% of thier real medical school class. Hmmm

I know at Palmer College they have to see so many patients or spend a certain number of hours in the school's chiropractic clinic. It's not like they have no experience with seeing patients.

Why don't you try and get informed before you come in here and start spewing you fvcking bullsh!t mindless and unbased opinions all over the place?:|:|:frown:

I am going into the Palmer Chiropractic method, and will be going to the medical school in Iowa...I've been going to chiropractors for years, and I can say that 1) They are often very different, and there are many different methods being practiced, and 2) They are not "full of sh!t" and, if you get a good one, focus on actually moving your bones into the proper positioning and not just a quick "make you feel better for a few days" sort of adjustment.

Yale Physician says it's BS.

chiropractors are people who couldn't make it through medical school

Do you realize that a chiropractor has to go through the same, if not more medical training than a regular doctor, has to have more diagnosis schooling (BY FAR) than other MDs, and has to know the human anatomy to a extent usually well above typical MDs?

Didn't think so.

I just went to a Chiropractor today because of a car accident three months ago. I have seen a physical therapist 20 times (2x a week), my doctor 4 times, a neurologist 2 times, and have gotten 2 MRIs and 4 different Xrays. Yet, my neck and back still hurt.

Saw the chiropractor today after meeting with him yesterday, and he perfomed a few adjustments. For the first time, my neck feels almost like it is in the right place. I even saw the misalignment with my own two eyes on my xrays. He didn't even need to point it out. I could feel exactly what the xrays showed. I've been complaining about it to my doctor and physical therapist the whole time and they said it would just align itself after a few months.

Well, I don't fvcking want to wait a few more months while I am in pain every day. At least my neck feels like it's been released a little. I cannot wait to see him again.

But, he says not to push it. He says one adjustment per week is plenty.

I'm still not decided on whether or not Chiropractic is truly legitimite.. But, the more I see doctors and medicine, the more I see 'people acting like they know something without ever having the manual.'

Meaning.. all medicine is somewhat flawed. Until humans have the knowledge of Beverly Crusher, EVERYTHING a doctor says needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Yeah, and podiatrists have more training than an orthopaedic surgeon, too. So do 'herbalists'. lol!

Actually, the podiatry program I was looking into had the first three years of the same schooling as orthopaedic surgeons did. Classwork was pretty much the same, it diverged when it got to actual "hands on" training for specialization.

Why would u want to be a chropractor instead of an MD then? I don't really know but it seems the docotors would make more money and I'd guess the Doctors have more social standing than a chiropractor

Have you ever compared the working hours between a chiro and md. they charge the same, much less liability and equipment costs and much more free time.

Some of you people just don't see the light.

A Doc gives you medicine to take away the pain. He doesn't do anything to cure the problem.

At least a chiropractor goes directly to the source and attempts to fix the problem. Any good chiropractor, though, knows if your ailment can not be handled with normal chiropractic procedures then he will refer you to a doctor or surgeon.

My aunt went to Palmer in Davenport, graduated as valedictorian of her class, and is definitely not full of sh!t. She makes me feel sooo good

This somehow sounds sooo wrong.
