Are all CF cards the same in terms of speed?

Hope this is in the right forum.

As message title. I'm about to get a digicam and choosing a CF card brand is really a headache. Anyone has any experience on this? I would also like to use the CF card as a storage media as well once in a while.

DPreview did a review on various CF cards. There were slight differences in performance between the different brands; however, I don't think you'd ever see a noticable difference in the real world. I'm using a Canon S230 and can't really tell a difference... (Lexar 128MB CF card and PNY 128MB CF card)

EDIT: What camera are you using??
