Also, the golden coin, will eventually catch on, once dollars are taken out of circulation, and the new $2 gets issued(not sure when it'll happen

Didn't know they were thinking about doing that, i would use it. wish they would get rid of pennies though.

From my understanding they are supposed to do away with the $1 bill, and bring back the $2 bill. The vending lobby is trying to lobby congress into doing away with the penny, it'll probably happen, they were the ones that wanted the new $1 coin. The $1 coins are spreading, you used to only get them at banks, walmart and post offices, but Ive gotten them at other places quite a few times now.

<< They are worth two dollars.

and you can buy a cola for $2 with two Susan B Anthony coins (what a stupid idea that was...)
>>

LOL!

I have a $2 bill, I think printed in 1957, that has red ink on the seal and serial number. The back of the bill has a building instead. Is there anything special about this $2 bill over the 1976 printed ones with the green ink seal and serial, and the signing of the declaration in the back? (correct me if I'm wrong about the back of the 1976 bill)

WHen I was growing up come of my older relatives thought it was cute to give a kid a two dollar bill for a present sometimes, so I have a small colllection of them somewhere. They're all still worth 2 dollars....My Mom has a collection of them from the early and mid 1900's that I think are worth more than two dollars, but I'm not sure how much.

It's my understanding that the red ones where issued to servicemen oversea's. (though I could be wrong)

There were a few older $2 bill's that were printed wrong. There back was printed upside down. Those are worth some $$$, but good luck finding any of them!

<< wtf? what machine costs $2 for a damn bottle of soda? >>

I don't know if you've ever heard of it, but Cedar Point in Ohio has pop machines in the lines for all the rides. Last time I was there (like a year and a half ago) it was $2 for a 20oz pepsi/water. And people bought it too. I dunno if other amusement parks do that or not.

$2 bills are fun to give to kids working in the mall food courts. They've never seen them. I read somewhere where some guy got mall security called on him because he tried to use a legal tender $2 bill and the kid thought it was fake.

That would be this story. I think it's hilarious.
