I heard that $5 is where it stops, and there is no need to change the $1 bill since no one counterfeits them. But, that is kinda weird to have a mixture of new bills and the same old $1 design.

actually I heard they don't want to do $1 bills because its one of the most widely recognized currencies worldwide. Parts of Mexico, Europe, Canada, and Asia will accept $1 bills on the streets. If you showed them a new different $1 bill they'd think it was fake.

They're trying to replace the $1 bill with those new $1 coins that came out awhile back. They want to eventually have only the coin and do away with the paper bill.

US bill designs suck, they look like they are out of the 1800s, they have high-tech modern looking ones in europe, with more interesting pics than dead presidents.

I don't think redesigning the 1 dollar bills is much of a priority, no one in their right mind would bother to counterfeit them.

I think coins are better for the small money. The British pound is much cooler than our dollar bill.

Why bother to redesign the $1 bill. It would probably cost counterfitters more to make the dollar bill than it's face value.

The reason our bills are dull and boring, according to some, looking is that unlike other world currencies ours is actually WORTH something. So who gives a rat's arse what they look like? Italian money is pretty but it take a truckload to buy a burger.

If they make $1 bills into coins they better make $2 bills again.

Heh that's true. We don't need to pretty up our currency to make it valuable unlike the lowly Canadians and the EU.
