Arctic Silver on chip surface

Will a little bit of Arctic Silver on the surface of my AMD TBird cause any problems? It's right next to the core, and not touching any bridges or anything else.

i personally thought you were supposed to put artic silver on the core to transfer heat to the heatsink... If you dint put it on the core where the &^*& did you put it?

Arctic silver isn't supposed to be electricly conductive..

In anycase, wipe it up the best you can and you'll be fine..

I have some spilled also. heh. 😱

Same here - but mine DID go all over the bridges. I wiped it off best I could but my TBird has a silver tint to it now. Hasn't done it any harm.

But then, why should it?

At arcticsilver.com, there are full instructions. They say that arctic silver is not an electric conductor. BUT if you read further, they say that if it is compressed and in a thin layer, it can be conductive, AND, they also say NOT to let it cross any bridges, as it could damage(fry) your cpu.
BUT, I have it all over my Tbird, (it's messy stuff), and have not had any problems.

Yhea...i got it all over my athlon and wiped off best i could..there's still some in small spaces im sure...runs fine now.
