newegg has it for 12.58 shipped...

http://www.newegg.com/app/View...=35-100-007&depa=0

but that doesnt really change the fact SVC has had this @ the price for quite some time.

You aren't supposed to put it on your hamburger...

(note: i was gonna say "hotdog" but I wanted to stay away from all the rude comments....)

Yea it transfer heat between 2 objects not lubricating them 😛

I replaced AS2 to AS5 on the P4 3.2 prescott. I didn't record the temperature difference, but I remember that the result was quite noticeable. It is now on my ati x800xt-pe, too. $5.99 is definately worth it.

So you use AS5 to transfer heat from the warm meat to the cool bun? 😕

well to be fair newegg ships via fed-ex. SVC uses Fisrt class mail to ship this. It costs SVC ~50 cents to ship it vs $4+ for newegg 😛

Yeah, this is their normal price, so its not hot, but still a good deal.

it's just stupid to send a small item that fits in an envelope and costs $8 (that's the inflated price, wholesale price is half that) with a service that adds 60% to the total price. They are just gouging, and making extra profit on the shipping.

Or maybe they have a contract signed with Fedex that they won't ship in another fashion in order to get very significant savings (50% maybe?) in all of their shipments so you and I save money? If you can't prove this and similar arguments false, then I suggest you stop blindly and ignorantly blaming the company for trying to screw you over just because somebody has a better overall price on something. I suspect the contract thing is true though, with maybe a few exceptions.

The fedex contract may be true, but it's still ridiculous to charge $5.99 shipping on $8 item. That's more like what happens when bored housewifes buy stupid worthless trinklets on ebay (down with them too, i say).

where do u guys see free shipping? UPS gound is $5.-- for shipping

edit: ah nevermind. first class mail is free ship

I remember getting this stuff for $3.99 shipped somewhere from some obscure e-tailer. They sent it first class and quite promptly at that. I'll have to see if I can find out where I got it from again, and post a link. Although, I bet it was just a special, so I may not find it 🙁

but it's still ridiculous to charge $5.99 shipping on $8 item.

So according to your logic its ok for a company to charge say $20 to ship an OEM cpu that retails for $500 and weighs just a few ounces?
