Arctic Silver 3 ?

hi,

few weeks ago someone had a somewhat suspicious pre-view of AS3 on his website. People said it could have been a hoax (but the preview looked/sounded reasonable in my opinion)

Anyway...NOW AS3 is really available, just seen at newegg.

The one guy who claims to have tested an "engineering sample" of AS3 stated ENOURMOUS differences between AS2 and AS3.....AFAIK he did tests with a graphics card , and AS3 in comparison had like 4 or so (sorry..forgot...) *less* Degrees than Arctic Silver 2 ! The charts were totally impressing !
And this only by using another, modified thermal compound, which is (if true)...sensational !

Are there any "reliable" reviews/comparisons of AS3 out ?

I've seen that review, and I have a problem with it.
Even between normal cheap thermal compound and AS2, there isn't a big difference. I have a hard time believing that they were able to improve it that much over some of the best stuff already out there.

The A-1 Electronics review isn't really applicable to CPU testing....

Even though it at least doesnt' use socket-thermistor based reviewing, it still isn't a good review.

Look for the reviews with internal diode P3/P4 testing for accurate results... Something is funky with certian sites and internal diode testing (Overclockers.com and their variable results, which seems to signify something is either wrong wtih the testing or that something has come loose in his test rig) with athlon XP/MPs.

I believe EImod.com had a test with greases, and with the celeron internal diode, they noted a 5-6C drop with AS3 Versus AS2.
