Running a C3D x800gto with a R423 core. The AS4 works with the R420 series, but the AS5 says it works with 'all' x800s. Should I go with the 4 or the 5?
 
I'd go with the 5 to be safe, but do have a look at the VF700's. Much nicer build quality and cools the gpu a tad better (in my case) than AC's offering, but depending on your setup and what you want out of it, the AC could be a better choice. I had both....went with the AC soley on the fact that it exhausts the warm gpu air which in my case was a large benefit. With a oc'ing utility (I use RivaTuner) you can control the AC fan (Zalman too) like SpeedFan. Njoy! 🙂
 
Ordering the AS5 now, thanks guys.

On a side note, it looks like Arctic Silver 5 is the grease to have for this type of installation. Anyone have information how to remove the old paste and apply the new?
 
91% alcohol and a q-tip.....as far as the as5 goes, you dont need any grease for it , it comes preapplied
