Arctic Frrezer Pro 64 Question

I got the freezer pro 64 today and just spent some time putting it on there.

It seemed alot harder then I think it should have been. It took a decent amount of force to even get the lever side down and aligned with the three hooks. I managed to get it, but when I bring down the lever to lock it in, that side of the bracket seems to not be perpendicular (sp?) to the board, sitting somewhere between 90 and 45 degrees angled in towards the hsf.

I released the lever and tried to reposition it a few times and got the same results. Any ideas?

Also, by removing it a few times and putting it back on, do I now have to reapply some thermal grease? Thanks.

um there should be no grease required to install that particular heatsink. Maximum PC says it should take only about a few seconds to install it.

I agree with you on the difficulty of installing the AF64.. After several tries I got mine seated correctly, but I didnt notice any slant. Maybe you got a pic of the situation?

I have the original Freezer 64, and mien installs in only a few seconds. I'm fairly certain that the base is the exact same, so if you are having issues it would seem that something is not quite right.

A pic would be very helpful because I do not understand what you are talking about with it being angled.
