It's only $25.00 on ZZP. I know it's cheaper at other places but ZZP is where I'm getting some other stuff. I'm mainly getting it for it's praice and it comes with Arctic Silver MX-1.

its a well performing and easy to use HSF, i have one. If you would get it instead of using stock cooling i suggest it highly.

I wouldnt get it if I were you, the Freezer isnt much better than the stock heatpipe HSF that the 4400 comes with. If youre wanting a heavy duty cooler try the Scythe Ninja or Zalman 9500.

The zalman is way overpriced IMO, the scythe ninja is very good, but the freezer 64 pro comes pretty close, for ~1/2 the cash! OP, did you get the heatpipe cooler?

if you are going to base what you purchase on price get the freezer Pro....
If Not then sure the zalman 9500 cost a little more than most but mind you besides getting a heatsink that dos the job it is a work of art.....

I have a friend-- YES--I do have friends--lol -- who ordered a Zalman 9500 and keeps it under glass on top of his entertainment center....he says it is a bad ass looking heatsink-- he is correct!!

Yet I own the Ninja and the it is also a very excellent heastsink!!

Zaman $47.99 at NewEgg...price has come down alot from there initial asking price of $75.00
jab tec -- $49.99 -- ScytheInfinity
Zalman 9500-- at jabtec-- $64.99
Zalman 9500 -- $46.99 and dual core -- $54.99
Scythe Ninja -- $49.99 -- New Egg

Arctic freezer Pro 64 -- NewEgg -- $24.99

Yet the zalman 9500 is not over priced as some would lead you to believe!!

Good Luck!!

The ninja is $33 +shipping @ jabtech.
Check it out the freezer 64 pro is 4c better than the zalman, and only 2dba more. Did I mention it is less than 1/2 the price?

But why get the Freezer when the heatpipe cooler that he already has is just as good? I have the Freezer it does a very good job but he will likely not see an improvement from his stock hsf. I got it for 20 shipped at Provantage, it was posted in hot deals like a week ago. Go with the ninja.

He never specified that he does in fact have the heatpipe cooler... some cpus always come with them, some don't. The ninja is a good investement though.

Again your making assumptions based on one review....
If you are as astute as you would like for us to believe you would stop with that this is better than this crap!!

When using reviews to purchase a product you should read more than one review in order to make your decision.

You also need to understands that any given heatsink on any given PC can be the best for that PC!!

All 3 heatsinks mentioned are very good!! If your on a budget I would definately go with the cheapest of the 3!!

Depending on which review you read you will find all 3 are within 1c - 2 c of each other!!

You cannot go wrong with any of them!!

Just because alot of people swaer by the Ninja or the 9500 or the freezer Pro does`nt mean that heatsink is going to effective on your PC!! It also doesn`t mean you will get the lowest temps possible on your PC!!

There are many testing sites.....yet you expect us to take your word without documented proof?

Actually the Ninja is $36 dollars + shipping at jab tec...yet the Zalman is almost $15 dollars more than at newEgg...

Yep! That's true, but 'art' is sort of in the eye of the beholder...

Personally, I think flower fans are ugly -- same with the Freezers, et al.

Holding this bias, I never could figure out why Zalman flower fans cost more than Arctic Freezers. To me its 6 one way, half-dozen the other...

Looks aside, I think Freezers are an excellent value, so if you're asking for social reinforcement, yes, get a Arctic Freezer Pro 64! Not my cup o' tea, but they're cheap and work good... ;)

Um...

If you click the link in NuAlphaMan's post, you'll discover:

Arctic freezer Pro 64 -- Provantage -- $15.07

That's quit a difference in price, compared to the others!

Good detective work, NuAlphaMan!

Wanna hear something funny (odd)?

To digress, I prefer running copper core spark plugs in my Honda Civic -- Champion 318, to be exact, 79-cents each on sale -- and all my import buddies think I'm crazy. But, I'll tell you what, they outlast everything else 3 for 1, in my experience!

In the import car scene, copper is the 'red-headed stepchild' of spark plugs -- and the cheapest!

However, copper seems to be the fool's gold of the computer world... ;)

Weird, huh?

Honestly, I think just about all fans look either stupid or plain. But, I like the way the Arctic Freezer looks. I like things utilitarion for some odd reason. And I think it's great that it comes with Arctic Silver MX-1. Thanx for pointing me in the right direction.

I think that's because a spark plug is not a heatsink.

I have the Arctic Freezer 64 Pro with an A8N32-SLI moo and a X2 4400+ @2.5GHz. I'm getting idle temps between 38C-42C. Not the greatest in my opinion.

Hahahaha! Are you kidding me?

Spark plugs sit at the absolute center of heat production in an engine, e.g. the hottest part of your motor. A major function of spark plugs is to dissipate heat away from the combustion area, e.g. heat conductivity. The analogy with CPU heatsinks is almost 1:1.

I prefer copper spark plugs and copper heatsinks! I'm just saying it's funny that copper is held in such low regard in automotive circles, but reigns supreme with computer geeks... ;)

I have this cooler, got it from Provantage for like $21 shipped. I running a AMD 64 4000+ 1 MB cache at 2.785Ghz idle temp is 40-41 with Sys temp of 39, load is 51 with syscase at 45.

I happy with this cooler, very silent.
