Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer Rev 3 $9.99 at SVC again

shoot. I just bought a VGA silencer two days ago from performance pcs for $16.00 or something :/.

hmmm....must not buy..must not.........

Oh, good the prices aren't lowered yet... Whew!

Just please don't bump this..I don't want to see it again.... 😎

Hmm... anybody else having trouble entering the coupon code? I added the items to cart and entered REV3 during checkout, but it said none of the items that it applies to are in my basket. =/

Seems like it's working now, I just ordered one along with some AS5. Gonna pick it up later today since it's about 5 minutes from work. 😀

Just curious - the SVC page claims nVidia compatibility for only GeForce3Ti level cards... is it really worth it to get this cooling unit for a GF3ti? My feeling is: anyone who is into getting exotic cooling for their vidcard and overclocking is probably not using a GF3ti level card anymore...

i think it's cause the gf3 just happened to have the same mounting holes. i actually threw one on my gf3 before i bought my 9800 pro. it bolted right in, but had clearance problems with the pci slots since the gf3 is shorter.

but! it did give the gf3 ti200 a 2000point increase in 3dmark01 from stock clock speeds. (6000 stock, 7000+ with stock cooler, 8000+ with vga silencer.

i got one because the fan died on my gf3 ti... as said above the mounting holes are the same, and it's probably just happenstance. my card doesn't overclock any better with it, though. it's the secondary computer anyway. the thing is pretty dead silent though. arctic cooling for HSF and videocard HSF, antec tru330 power supply, and a quiet 92 mm fan out the back.

I bought one of these a few weeks ago when it was on sale. Works great on my ATI 9700 Pro AIW. It surprised me how warm the air was that it vents out the back of my case. CPU temps dropped 2-3c after installing this.

Great vendor, too.

This sounds stupid... but can somebody who owns one of these comment on which direction their fan spins? (Reference the picture on SVC's page) I recently noticed that my rev2 spins counter-clockwise - does this seem backwards to anyone else??

Thanks for a good deal, ordered one along with a floppy cable and 8 SATA cables, the total came only to 35.05 - saved a bunch on the cables against buying them from newegg.

Now if only I had a videocard to use it with... 😀 Oh well, I just hope that Fry's that opens in Downers Groove will have some good opening deals on videocards, it's time to replace my old R8500...
