Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer $13.99

Does anyone know where to find the Arctic Cooling Copper Silent 2 TC? Note the revision: 2 TC (revision 2, Temperature Control). TC, 2 L or 2 M are not the same. I have checked every dealer listed at Arctic Cooling's web site including SVC.com which is local to me and seems to have the largest selection, but I cannot find it anywhere in the US! Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

I'm assuming that this still won't work on my AIW? They keep saying that they will come out with one that will fit on the AIW cards, but that's been a while.

If you're up to it, you can easily sand down edges and corners to make it fit on your AIW. My friend was successful in doing so.

Ramsinks are ok as long as they are low profile. I have 4 underneath my vga silencer and there is plenty of clearance.

this looks like they are clearing out the Revision 1s...revision 2 is out now also with some improvements.

That is exactly what the deal is but it's still a great cooler and a heck of a deal 😉

EDIT: I forgot to mention I spoke to Magnus over at Arctic Cooling a while back and he mentioned there will be a Aluminum/Copper Hybrid for the ATI 9800XT series....Just a headsup

I take it this thing sucks up the PCI slot next to your AGP slot?
It not only takes up the adjacent PCI slot next to the AGP slot, it's designed to. I believe that it takes the hot air from the video card and exits out the back of the PCI slot on the case.

So it won't fit on a 9600 if this is the first revision?

EDIT: This is the first revision card they are clearing out. This means that it is incompatible with the 9600 Pro/XT series card. More info can be had here.

is the revision that fits 9600XTs out yet?

I'm REALLY starting to hate this section of the forums! Think I'm gonna be ordering one of these too for my 9800.

It has 2 speeds, 1200 and 2400 RPM. 1200 is VERY quiet. 2400 is ~ the same as stock, but has a different sound. It sounds more like moving air than a fan whine. Very nice product.

That is what I like to hear.

Thanks

I've sent them an email about that but no response yet. However, I've heard from SVC that it'll take another 4 to 5 weeks so most probably it'll be availble by end of March.

I that thing quieter the 9800PRO stock fan?

yes very much so. In my situation, I have 2 Papst 12dba fans and a panaflo L1a with a zalman silent psu. If you don't have a quiet system, it's not going to make too much of a dfference.
