I purchased a Arctic 7 Pro HSF a couple years ago from Newegg. The fan froze up and my cpu overheat and shut down. I contacted Newegg about a replacement and they referred me to AC. I sent AC an email and I pointed out AC's own warranty but they told me to go fuck myself and order another fan from their website. The fan cost about $10.00. It took about a month to receive it so in the meantime I bought a HSF from the local MicroCenter.

Long Lifetime / 6 Years Warranty
The ARCTIC Ceramic Bearing provides an unmatched Life Time of 137'000h (L10@40°C) resp. an MTBF@70°C of 163'000h and thus a 6 year warranty.

Yesterday I got this email from Arctic Cooling:

Dear rks,

Re Invoice No. XXXX you have ordered only 1 piece of Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 spare fan. However we believe that we have delivered by mistake 2 pieces of the spare fan, 1 piece of RC Turbo Module and 2 pieces of Adaptor Cable, please acknowledge receipt of the extra products by return e-mail, thank you for your co-operation.

Best regards

Here is my intended response:

Dear Arctic-Cooling Webshop,

Re Invoice No. XXXX I ordered only 1 piece of Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 spare fan. However we believe that your quality control is lacking in the warehouse as well as in your products. Please acknowledge by return e-mail, that your warranty should have extended to providing a new fan, thank you for your co-operation.

Best regards

rks

What exactly does the warranty cover, if not the fan? I would think that's the only component that can actually fail... Sounds ridiculous

AC warranty is nonexistant. IME, the fans they sell are total garbage. The pwm fans of various sizes, twinturbo and module fans for their gpu coolers are all garbage with fubared bearings.

how much case airflow do you have.. seems like every heatsink i own would be fine if the fan stopped working.. on another note i dont use arctic coolers since they cost same amount as better giant ones..

good to know they dont honor warranty.. i tried to buy a new clip for my sunbeam corecontact freezer (i must own 6 of them) and they said they couldnt even sell the part.. so its just waiting to be ziptied down to a cpu that i dont care much about..

Couldn't you just have bought any cheap 92mm (yate loon) fan and attached it to the heatsink? Would have been better than the stock fan too.

I had the same issue with them over a 92mm fan on a Arctic Ultra (cooled a s754 system). I had the fan for 1.5-2 years, it crapped out....it took way too much effort to get in touch with someone at the company, and to actually get a response via their email/ticket system. They eventually sent out a fan with a BROKEN plastic clip, so it wouldn't securely mount on the HSF. I gave up on them at that point, and I haven't gotten anything from them since.

Wow, they screwed up ceramic bearings? I wonder what exactly caused the failure? Those are supposed to be even better than ball bearings.
