:ty ironplasma  for you!

I have this, and it is literally awesome! It is very quiet and it cools very well. I have the venice 3000 and the ecs board (purchased with the help of a thread here at AT) overclocked to 2.5gig in an Antec Lanboy case. The normal temp is around 33degrees and it never goes over or even near 40 degrees with full load.

I have the old non Pro version of this. It's incredible. I can't even hear it and I have my X2 OC'd from 2ghz to 2.5ghz. The only thing holding me back is that I haven't tried upping it anymore. My factory HSF topped out at 2.2ghz. I also have two more running with a tech tour opteron bundle, champs.

i recently just purchased this cooler, i think i paid 1-3 dollars more. Honestly, I was a bit dissappointed with it, I was expecting it to be more quiet than my current cooler(xp-90 w/ a 120mm fan), I couldn't hear a difference, had a hum...having said that my orginal cooler was pretty quiet anyways.

Hot deal for a decent cooler. Don't get me wrong, it is a good cooler. It's just I had too high expectations for it.

I sold mine as well. It seems to cool about the same as an xp-90/stock 4 heatpipe heatsink(At least with my benchmarks). I went with the ninja instead.

Its definitely worth $20 though.

should i get one? my stock is runs idle at 31-35c and load 100% from prime 95 52-55c but games only goto around 45c

i have a 3500 oced to 2.5ghz

i afraid that this wont cool any better !

Does the stock fan sound loud to you? If it doesn't, stick with the stock. This HSF will probably cool it by 5C under load.

This is a nice deal - I'm using this to cool an opty 144 @ 2.7 24/7 and have no problems with it. It is very quiet. One thing I'd point out is that the base is not quite big enough to cover the entire IHS of the opty. Like I said though, no problems.

Still a bargain, imo. Not that much more than you did, $29.99 was what I paid @ ZZF, 4 months ago but the ah heck's worth every penny. My new x2 (upgrade) runs @38c at full load. I'd recommend using Zalman Thermal grease, not the paste that comes with the 64 Pro. The Zalman Thermal grease cools it down a few more degrees, say ~ 4c-5c than the paste itself.

Echo. This is a good little heatsink, I've got it on my computer and it works just fine. But you do want to get something else besides the heat paste that comes with it.

Like the above poster I got my Intel Freezer 7 Pro from Provantage for $16~ something plus s/h, came out to under $22 shipped. It shipped out via Fedex within 24 hrs and had it a couple days later. Installed it today on a P4 550 3.4ghz (115w version) and it is running at 29-30C idle and 38-39C load during prime95 torture test / max heat setting. Its totally silent (at least to me) and the temps are impressive.
