I built a MAME cabinet a few years ago. I don't get to play on it as much as I'd like, but it's still a lot of fun.

I use to enter and win Galaga tournaments as a pre- and young-teen.

Even at 40-something, I still can make a quarter last longer than I will ever again have time to stand in front of the machine.

About two years ago, I was in trial out of town and went to a fancy dinner at a Shakey's. After finishing my meal, I saw they had a Galaga machine. I played the first quarter until I had the high score, then let myself die out. Rinse and repeat until I had all the high scores. I played the last quarter until I had a high score double the second place score, died out and left.

Ah, the small pleasures of life.

My brother was the same way in college. When I would visit, we would always end up at some pinball hall.

Edit: How could I forget Raiden I and II and Aerofighters...I played those the most.

Battlezone and Donkey Kong

I once played Battlezone for about an hour and a half on one quarter. I looked up after dieing and all the lights were off in the arcade and the owner was standing there watching me with a broom in his hand and said, "great game". My 15 minutes of fame.

Ho what was it called... you drive around a little robot and rescue people, while shooting bad guys.

Or osterich jousting! We played both of those in the lab computers back in HS - 2 player, awesome times!
