I always thought that was stupid language to use. You brought the "Axis of Evil" phrase in here, not me.

Anyways, point being Kim Jong is held in high regards by a LOT of North Koreans. The Wikipedia link I gave before says:

It should be noted that these complimentary statements, as with the derogatory remarks, may be equally manufactured to pursue better relations with North Korea.

As for the North Koreans own opinion, I suggest you watch the documentary. It was paid for by Americans, yet the opinion of North Koreans is vastly different than what is portrayed on Fox or CNN or MSNBC.

And I repeat, it is shameful and hypocritical that some on this forum wish death upon another or celebrate his/her demise while accusing others of doing the same.

I think you are going in my sig.

be my guest. i already asked you to view the documentary. you choose to ignore it :)

am not able to view it. So how can I comment on a program I have not seen?

You simply refuse to accept the truth for some reason that is currently beoynd me.

Well, watch it then before telling me I refuse to accept the truth. Call PBS. You can surely order the documentary. Whats better, a false accusation on another member of this forum, or helping your local PBS station?

So, this one program is going to change my entire view on North Korea?

I dont know, watch it. I cant read minds. I suggest you watch it BEFORE you tell me I refuse to accept the truth.

Anyone? I really am at a loss here. This is like reasoning with a brick wall.

Emm, you accuse me of refusing to accept the truth, yet you cannot partake a few measly dollars to help your local PBS station and gain some insight to the North Korean people's viewpoint and you're implying I'm being unreasonable???

Yes, because you seem willing to disregard every other source outside of a documentary that I cannot view and meanwhile trying to turn me into the bad guy because I don't want to buy it.

emm, no... I disregarded the two links you provided and with good reason. You disregarded words of our own Secretary of State. Makes us pretty even. You cant call me unreasonable if you choose to believe that North Koreans are full of hatred of their leader.

So the US Committe for Human Rights in North Korea is a bad source but a comment by Madeleine Albright is ok?

You are so hypocritical it isn?t even funny.

Congrats, you and I are now in the 'Sultan is in my sig' club!

Personally I think my sig showing his support of child murder is more revealing about his extremism than yours.

True, but I think his line of reasoning in this thread is even more absurd.

Yep. Remember that an extremist like Sultan will NEVER have good logic.

One of my 'arguments' with him once resulted in his logic saying that the phrase 'orange bicycles' means that all oranges are bicycles. That's how brainwashed this extremist is.

You again have disregarded my point.
It should be noted that these complimentary statements, as with the derogatory remarks, may be equally manufactured to pursue better relations with North Korea.

You should know the opinion of North Koreans about their leader rather than base it off some pro-American think thank or human rights group.

Mongoose how did your sig come about:

Sultan: I calmly tried to explain to him that adultery/fornication is the second biggest sin in Islam (and not Murder as Aimster said) and the punishment for the above is stoning to death (or capital punishment if you like) / 100 whips. I also tried to explain to him that if my children were found guilty of either of the previous sins, I will have no problem carrying out the punishment.

Even when filmmakers (of any nationality) are escorted everywhere under the watchful eye of minders who are there to ensure they don't see anything outside the party line?

very good question, and it would work both ways. I very strongly suggest you want the documentary. It has taken care to avoid the pitfalls you are describing.

Remember when the peace activists went to N Vietnam.

They were shown "model" POWs and buildings that the American war-mongers destroyed.

When our boys came back, a different story emerged.

Regimes that allow no discontent will not alow any type of exposure/conflict to their propaganda.

To do so, will expose there falicies and promote unrest. Eventually, that could lead to an uprising which could expell the regime or expose it to the rest of the world that has blinders.

Look at what happended under the Soviet rule in the 70s-80s and what extremes China impliments to control discent.

What do you mean? Sultan mentioned it in a thread and has mentioned it in other threads since. He supports the murder of children.

Yes, he has defended these words in more than one thread.

A crime has punishment and it has nothing to do with peace or hatred.

Adultery and pre-martial sex warrant death? Gee... does stupidity warrant death?

I don't think you want Sultan to answer any other questions about what else deserves death...I mean if he's willing to throw rocks at his child's head and brutally kill him/her, then I wouldn't be surprised if he demands torture, mutilation, and then death if a baby wets his or her diaper.
