I would equate Hitler with Sharon, a racial supremacist. I will not wish death upon either of them, nor celebrate their deaths.

They may think Arafat is innocent, or than all americans, even those peacefully working in an office building are not innocent, but that does not make them right. And YOU as an American who does have that information, should know better. The fact that YOU are calling Americans and US troops terrorists (as you have done in other threads) is the problem. Some of the poor brainwashed and misled minority in middle eastern contries do not have all of the information. YOU DO.

Even if all the information YOU have, it does not make it right that you celebrate/wish death upon ANY human being. And with all the information YOU have, you should know that I have said the CURRENT US action in Iraq is a terrorist action. Period. I have defined terrorism, and have stated how our invasion is nothing short of a terrorist action.

So you are not better than any misinformed/brainwashed/illiterate soul if you choose to lower yourself to the standard of celebrating/wishing death on ANYONE.

And also, thank yourself for having a superiority complex and thinking you are the enlightened and the Middle Easterners are all in the dark ages.

There are some notable exceptions to that IMO:

Stalin
Pol Pot
Castro
Mao
Kim Jong Il
Ishii Shiro
large chunks of the Nazi party and Imperial Japanese Army General Staff
etc......

Based on what guidelines? Stalin, Castro, Mao, Kim Jong are held in very high regards by the people of their respective countries, infact, revered.

I don't think Stalin is held in high regards in Russia

What does the documentary you linked to have to do with the discussion? Nothing, that's what.

Because Jong is throwing a party he is automatically a swell dude? Hitler liked dogs, so he has to be ok.

Generally regarded as accurate by whom? We have Guantanamo Bay and we're trying to tell OTHERS about forced detentions? North Koreans are trying to go into China because of the famine that has stricken the nation and the effects of which have been compounded by the sanctions. The documentary highlights these issues as well. Watch the documentary before you comment on it. It is just a suggestion. Rest is up to you.

Nobody except NK disputes that the counrty is a human rights disaster.

And in the cases of Castro, Mao, and Kim Jong, the regards of the people are irrelevant because they are force-fed to them. If the people didn't hold them in high regards they would be punished. And if they do, one could make a good arguement that it is only because of a lifetime of brainwashing and isn't based on any real facts at all.

A portion of the population (mostly older people IIRC)actualy do have what I would describe as a "slight lingering fondness" for Stalin. Mainly, I suspect, because of the social/economic problems in the country today.

Nobody except the US calls NK the Axis of Evil :) And I cannot imagine how you will try to link Human Rights Issues to US' call of it being part of the Axis of Evil.

And the documentary was first shown on 11 Sep 2003. Maybe you can ask your local PBS to retelecast or buy the documnertary.

Anyways, point being Kim Jong is held in high regards by a LOT of North Koreans. The Wikipedia link I gave before says:

It should be noted that these complimentary statements, as with the derogatory remarks, may be equally manufactured to pursue better relations with North Korea.

As for the North Koreans own opinion, I suggest you watch the documentary. It was paid for by Americans, yet the opinion of North Koreans is vastly different than what is portrayed on Fox or CNN or MSNBC.

And I repeat, it is shameful and hypocritical that some on this forum wish death upon another or celebrate his/her demise while accusing others of doing the same.

Well, they didnt think the lives lost in 9/11 were "innocent". On the other hand, many not only think Arafat is an innocent person, but hold him in very, very high regard in Palestine. Again, your point is moot. You're not showing you have better morals or character.

Which is fine. But maybe those people who believe the 9-11 victims can prove the people jumping out of the north tower ran an organization that killed hudreds if not thousands of people. Then Ill start to think differently.

As for Arafat being held in high regard, your point? Becuase he is held in high regard by people he should be excused for the problems he created? You know in the dying days of the reich there were many who thought the same way about Hitler. Should we have not celebrated Hitlers demise and excused his and his govts actions because of this?

Well, watch it then before telling me I refuse to accept the truth. Call PBS. You can surely order the documentary. Whats better, a false accusation on another member of this forum, or helping your local PBS station?

Yes, Madeleine Albright spent a lot of time in forced labor death camps in North Korea.

I probably wouldnt use Maddy as a source to prove something. Remember Kin Jong suckered here through the entire 90s. Obviously his charm rubbed off on the old bag.

They know what to say and have that indoctrinated into them. Otherwise family members have a habit of dissapearing.

Arafat innocent? Man some people in this thread are deluisional or on some sort of trip. Arafat is not only a war criminal and terrorist leader but he has also stolen billions from the starving Palestinian people.

And to the person who said Arafat should be buried in Israeli terroritory. Yes and Bin Laden should be buried in Arlington National Cemetary...

PARIS - Yasser Arafat 's condition deteriorated dramatically overnight as his coma deepened, but the Palestinian foreign minister said Tuesday he is "still alive" and his brain, heart and lungs are working.

Quick question, whats the chances of Arafat meeting up with Hitler and Elvis in Argentina?
