Aqua is really p'ing me off. :|

The new (recent) WU's have been increadibly long > 100 hours on an i7, unstable and now the CUDA ones are also causing problems.

I lost 8 WU's on Friday which had about 50+ hours. Now I just lost 4 CUDA wu's with about 35 hours. I cannot figure out the reasons. And they jump about - had some about to finish and then were paused to start new. These then all crashed so I lost the lot!!! :|

Anyone else with the same frustrations? I think I will swop to something else!!!

I think the applications mess up the whole boinc project management since they are now using multiple cores per WU (multithreading) and boinc doesn't officially support it (yet).

I have a mix of 2.18 and 2.26 running under Linux64 without any problems. I think it is a .dll problem with Windows. You might check their forum for the remedy.

I have one other project that also uses threading without problem.

EDIT: to correct speeling!

I don't think AQUA plays very nicely. I have had to take my TV tuner out of my i7 box as when I am recording TV, my PC is useless - increadibly slow if I don't snooze BOINC.

RT, did yo not mention that there was an optimized version of Milkyway?

Thanks. Did not realise Milkyway was also running GPU stuff now.

Need another 295, need another 295, need another 295....

RaTS! Tom beat me to it.

I was not able to get the optimized apps to play nice on my boxes under Linux.

I checked the AQUA forums and there is a discussion of a bad dll. It is a struggle!

Thanks guys for the comments. Back to GPUGRID. Lost too much processing time the last week. Let them fix the dll bugs.

I just wish they would go back to shorter WU's. Some of my slower machines are pulling like 1000 hours with 250 to go. That is on par with a climate prediction WU - with no trickles.

For right now at least, Milkyway is ATI GPU only. The CUDA application for NV is still being worked on.

But, oh how the ATI WU's fly. 😀

Hm, I have been running AQUA on three comps without any problems. Two of them have a NVIDIA GPU too, and those credits are just great!
