We’re currently investigating an issue related to the forum theme and styling that is impacting page layout and visual formatting. The problem has been identified, and we are actively working on a resolution. There is no impact to user data or functionality, this is strictly a front-end display issue. I'd be weary of using that for things as large as gnome, I know some people who had problems upgrading from the early unnofficial debs to the official ones and help is hard to come by because the Debian developers just call you stupid for using unnofficial debs =)
I don't know if the whole thing is in by now, but last time I checked, the "gnome" in unstable was a bastardized 2.2/2.4 version, having some components from both.
