Does anyone know if I can setup Synaptic (the apt-rpm Gui frontend) to use source-rpms? I fear that all the rpms in the freshrpms.net DB are all for i386. I'd hate to lose all the speed that pentium3 optimizations can provide.

Also, stupid version of rpm with RH8 has no --rebuild option, anyone know if I can tell apt-get to use rpmbuild instead of rpm --rebuild?
