I've been thinking about gettinga TP2 battery as well. It may not be a huge jump in battery life but for 16 bucks!?

Does this one on Amazon look to be the right one?

I have some amazon credit that I want to use up 🙂

Yeah that looks identical to the one I ordered. As long as it's actually made by HTC, it should be good. Really can't beat the price since most other batteries are at least double the cost.

Alright, I just ordered it then. I feel better about buying an HTC battery rather than Seidio.

can somebody tell me how is the screen when viewed outside in the sun. the iphone screen is pretty good in my opinion so i'm curious about the incredible since we're thinking of switching...thanks

It's bad in sunlight. It's not something you'd ever want to web browse with in sunlight, but if you had to make phone calls and such it's still possible.

Came to post this.

You can shade the screen enough to use the phone, but AMOLED screens are notorious in direct sunlight. That's NOT saying it's bad all the time outside, just bad in direct sunlight.

Make sure you report back how they are, if you notice a worthwhile increase I may jump on it as well. Not having to make the phone any thicker + a fair amoutn more battery life would be killer.

Apparently Seidio sent it with a signature required, because Fed Ex didnt leave the batteries yesterday. Which sucks, since the company is based here in Houston. :\ I don't think they have a storefront.

Hopefully I'll receive them this evening and will post thoughts in a day or 2.

I can't comment on Droid Incredible Seidio batteries, but I've had the 3200mAh extended Seidio battery for the Nexus One for about a month. It has pretty much doubled my battery life, I absolutely love it. The new back has a very nice feel to it(not as good as the stock back on the N1 though) and the shape is very natural looking, not at all like their other extended batteries that look like garbage. I can now use my phone as much as I want anywhere all day long and never come close to running out of juice. Battery life is no longer something I need to be aware of, it's nice.

Shopsavvy for the barcode apps.

I believe there is also an app that lets you set notification light colors. I can't recall the name right now.

There's also an app that lets you wake up the phone with the trackball for the N1, it may work with the Incredible since the hardware is so similar.

You can usually weed out the crappy apps by sorting by rating.

Is Shopsavvy better than "Barcode Scanner"?

Android is very different from your typical computer OS. For the most part, it's very good at managing itself. Task Killer apps really are unnecessary. The OS automatically closes idle or non active applications if it needs memory but only if it does. All a task killer does is mean if you decide to use an app you closed for no reason, Android has to load it up again.

Some videos explaining how some of Android works:

Great info bro, thanks. The 2nd vid goes over how android handles background apps, which was one of my major questions.

Well we received the batteries yesterday. I threw it in my phone and took it down to about 6% life. (it had about 60% charge when I received it.) Seidio says full potential will be achieved after about 6 full charges. So far, (i know this isn't very scientific) I'd say I'm getting a ~20% increase in battery life using this new 1750mAh batt. i've been burning through the net, about 6 phone calls, twitter notifications, IM notifications, emails etc here at work for about 5 hours. We're on wifi here. Normally I'd be down to about ~40%. I'm sitting on 58% life now. I'd say I've been heavily using it today, just trying to burn battery power. I'm going to burn it down to near 5% or so again and charge it fully overnight and see what happens.

This is the battery I'm waiting on from Seidio. Hopefully when they release it, they'll also release an Innocase II that will fit.

That's pretty good. I"m still reading people's experiences with the Seidio debating whether to get one. Depending on how the TP2 battery I bought works out, I may go ahead and buy the seidio for the hell of it.

Is anyone NOT using a screen protector on their incredible? any scratches so far?

I had a Zagg on mine, but the VZW silicone case peeled the edges up. I got a replacement but I totally screwed up on the install (got a hair under it or some dust not sure what it is).

I Just took it all off and am debating using it without a screen protector. I'm keeping it inside the Nexus one sleeve in my pocket for now until I decide what to do.

From what I hear from DI specific forums, the screen attracts scratches like no-other. Put one on it. Better safe than sorry, anyway.

I am not using one. Nor do I plan on it. It's glass. It's very scratch resistant. Plus I don't like the feel of the zagg I had on my previous phone. The only reason my wife has one on hers is because she wears earrings.

There's some info on AndroidForums that says the Incredible is using Gorilla Glass, which is what the Droid uses. I've never had a screen protector on my Droid and while there are knicks and scuffs all over it, the screen is still flawless.

I'm not taking any chances with the Incredible because honestly it does feel more fragile than my Droid does.
