Is this wierd, or normal? I had a job interview yesterday, I thought I did fairly well, and I'm hoping to hear back form them in the next couple days. Would sending an email saying basically, "thanks for the opportunity to interview with you, look forward to hearing from you, etc" be appropriate, or would people just find it wierd?

BTW, all correspondance regarding this job has been through email.

You're always supposed to send a thank you note after an interview.

Yes, send one to each person you spoke with.

<edit> E-mail sound just fine, since they seem to be e-mail savy </edit>

thank you emails are fine. snail mail used to be the norm, but it takes way too long to get it to where you need it to go.

certainly a must. although i must say, when i was looking for a job one of the companies made me the offer in less than 24 hrs, before i even got a chance to write a thank you. the other job offer i got, i was only able to thank about 5/8 people i spoke to because they didnt give me business cards even though i asked. i ended up taking the latter job. but yes, you should certainly do it

always follow up your interview with a thank-you letter. you get a chance to say anything you forgot to say, you get another chance to stress your strengths, you show that you care, and you'll refresh yourself in the minds of your interviewers.
