Applying thermal grease

I have a friend who needs a website to show him how to apply thermal grease. I tried to tell him a small portion right dead center of the chip, but he wants to play it safe. Anyone have any good websites with pics for him?

Wrong forum, green pea.

you want to cover the cpu in as much as possible. a full tube per CPU. then use a screw driver to get the overflow when you put on the heatsink.

Remember. you can never have to much!

of course. searching google would be a good idea also....

OP btw, dont do that. You want as little grease as possible - enough to fill the voids of the surface area so that air doesnt get in between the core and the heatsink. Grease is a terrible conductor of heat compared to the heatsink material, but it is better than air.

Do a Google search for about a million different techniques. Get your lazy ass hands off the keyboard rest, off ATOT, and onto Google.
