applying arctic silver 5 for core2duo

can someone help me out and tell me a good method to apply arctic silver 5 to the core 2 duo's? I've been hearing a bunch of methods and im wondering what you guys think works the best with these chips. Thanks a lot.

Too many people put way too much thermal paste. As noted in the above link, only a rice grain size is needed for a CPU with a heat spreader. The heatsink will spread it out as necessary. No need to spread it on like peanut butter on the entire heat spreader. The main center area where the core is located is all that matters.

usually people prefer to wrap a piece of plastic on their finger and use it rub the grain sized AS5(which is on the cpu heatspreader)all over it.
