applied for a job

Would it be a bad idea to ask why I didnt get the position? I went through 3 interviews, and I'd like to know why I didnt get the position. Or should I just let it be?

🙁

Any suggestions on how I should word it? The only words that come to mind are ones that would get me a restraining order.

If you went through 3 interviews, then I imagine that you were neck and neck with a very similar candidate, and he wanted less money.

Don't beat yourself up over it.

But it still couldn't hurt to ask.

Tell them you have a high interest in the company (give some reasons) and ask what you could do to pursuade them to consider you for future positions.

Especially as you could find out maybe why the other guy got the job, and work on improving yourself so next time it's you.

You should never discuss salary until after they offer you the job, then if it was an issue of money you be in control not them, rather than them not offer you the job you would be able to decline it.

Read 'How to make $1000 a minute'.
