That is a nice bit of info you have compiled and brought back to the forums.
The only bit I would like to have seen is what the difference in lapping would make, 600 grit as compared to polished, 1000 or higher.
I stop at 600 only because I have read about the "micro grooves" adding surface area and allowing the paste to "splooge" better. Whether it is true or not I have no idea and would not dispute or debate the statement. Besides, I'm lazy and 600 is easier.....
