This sucks.. my video ipod will not show any life when plugged into ANY USB port (mine's or my friend's comp) even after a whole night of being plugged in...

However when the HOLD BUTTON is ACTIVATED (that's right ACTIVATED) then the battery w/ the little charge icon it it appears.. when the HOLD BUTTON is released... no response!! =\ Obviously through all this my iPOD is lifeless :(

My questions: any chance anybody here might know what's wrong? If not... then would the AppleStore be able to repair this for me w/o charging me an arm and a leg?

Thanks!

YES, the APPLESTORE will be able to FIX your IPOD. If it is still under warranty (you can check at apple.com, then click Support), it'll be free.

Can't wait to go check my iPOD's serial number (too bad I'm at work)... is the general warranty usually 1 year?

If it is under warranty (1 year is default) they will replace it on the spot for you at the applestore with a new (refurb....looks brand spankin new) one!

It's a year for in-store repair :). BTW, it's iPod, not IPOD.

I got mine at COMPUSA, that won't make a difference will it?

iPod :).

It won't make a difference at all.

Have you tried soft resetting it? I think you press Play + center button for 10 seconds.
