nice action packed trailer.... but I hope they didn't Hollywood/Americanize it too much and leave out plot. Ghost in the Shell was pretty good in both animation and plot; I wonder about this one

Looks like it's nation wide, but at small theatres, not multiplex. I'll rent it when it comes out on DVD. A summary from my local news paper -

The trouble about all these apocalyptic Japanese anime ?anti-war? movies is that the gun battles and post-nuclear wastelands look so cool. Further undercutting Shinji Aramaki?s feature about a cute young lady (she?s beautiful and blond, but has police and SWAT experience, in case you wondered) who finds herself on a planet run by ?bio-roids? is the inane script filled with unintentionally funny dialogue. Nice-looking vision, but it?s no ?Akira? or ?Ghost in the Shell.?

So..... when are American animators going to take animation more seriously and stop sticking to small steps in development? I swear... if I see them waste more time on movies like the Incredibles and how blubber moves realistically :|

What, you don't like Pixar Animation movies? You know they worked under Disney and cater to the children audience right? Maybe now that they've dropped disney, they can make some hardcore violence animation... or not.

Incredibles:

Domestic gross = $250 Million
Worldwide gross = $520 Million

Apparently some other people liked it too.

Not that I know of right now. I'm sure they have a rather limited number of prints to show and other theatres will open the film as these come off of it. I doubt they will be doing a conventional expansion as this is foreign animation.

Keep your eyes on any local theatres that play "art" film as they are the most likely to get it if you are not within a major metro area.

Sounds like a rehash of the old Manga-released anime w/the big cyborg Briarios etc. This was a surprisingly uninteresting film when I saw it circa '96-'97, but perhaps it's worth a second chance revisit...

**EDIT** Yup, looks like this is it. I'd know those big bunny ears anywhere... ;) Nice flash site, btw.

Seen it and my review of the flick was a resounding, meh. The manga was much better. The move combines the first two volumes of the manga and takes certain liberties with the original storyline. The animation wasn't all that either.
