Apple is just angry that Android's smartphone userbase surpassed apple's recently.
Weird how those #'s for android include their tablets (Dell Streak, Samsung Galaxy) but the #'s for apple never include the iPad.
Otherwise, it would be a bloodbath.
The Streak is a phone so it should be included in those numbers.
Actually Steve Jobs compared Android vs all iOS devices and if remember correctly iOS didn't have a significant lead in activations.
But if you consider the amount of Android handsets to the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad. You would think Android would have more activations.
It does for phones but those other devices are entirely different.
Well Apple doesn't disclose iPhone activations by itself. Let's say for example that the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch is compared to all Android devices, be it tablets and phones, would you think they were equal or one would be higher than the other?
Of course iOS devices as a whole would and should be higher. You can just go in somewhere and buy it, a phone of any kind is a much different thing. You have to sign a contract and it's much more expensive in the long run. Any little kid could buy an iPhone or iPad but only adults can buy phones.
But consider the fact that the lowest end iOS device without a contract is >200. With a maximum of 830. Android devices run as cheap as free.
but like I said, they are totally different. Compare phones with phones, tablets with tablets. If you really want to get technical, find out how many Chinese knock-off Android phones and tablets are sold but no one really cares about those but I'm sure a ton of those are sold on eBay and cheap retailers. Gotta compare apple to apple.
If you want to compare phone sales, Apple is the largest phone vendor in the world in terms of revenue.
Because it is in every market except for North America? Why don't we just wait until the iPhone goes multi carrier? Then we can see what the iPhone is really made of.
Stunning revelation, all tablets are scaled up smartphones, including yours. You're off to a good start, Cook.
Because it is in every market except for North America?
