OK, I stumbled upon somewhat of a dillema today when I was trying out Applebee's new Car-side to go service. Whereas before I ordered a to-go thing and went inside to the bar and picked it up and paid at the bar, now a waiter runs my meal out to my car and takes my card and runs it in and comes back out again with a slip for me to sign. Basically, it's a drive through, but parked.
Here's the dillema.....do you tip? Before when I went in to pay at the bar, I never tipped because no one was really serving me or anything, with this new curbside thing, there's a waiter to has to bring you your food, and while they aren't doing the full work of an inside waiter, they're doing more than they were before, so I don't know what to do. I was caught off guard and went ahead and tipped like 10% (I normally tip 20% for decent to good service, more if I really like). My question is what would you do, would you tip and if so how much?
