Since I use safari on iOS and iOS7 adds the tab sharing stuff and keychain and all much the same as Chrome has...Safari makes a ton of sense for me. On Windows it's Chrome, though.

It's kinda sad that Chrome is winning nearly 2 to 1 on Apple's own platform. No wonder iOS doesn't allow overriding the default browser. 😉

I use Chrome primarily. I used FF on Windows but I don't like its fonts on OSX. I use Safari too for some things (internet radio, for example) but it has an annoying hang about once a day where it just locks up for 10-30 seconds (with the spinning color wheel) and all tabs are disabled in the duration.

I am a web developer and will often have 20+ tabs open and Chrome seems to handle this best.

Does Chrome still track everywhere you go with google analytics? I use Firefox with ghostry and adblock most of the time. I hate when computer parts ads follow me all over the internet because I come to anandtech daily.

I'm sure this Anandtech sample is representative of the general population. We already concluded from ATOT data that everyone's a millionaire. 😛

Safari.
There is no real world difference between it and Chrome and Safari is more integrated within Apple's ecosystem.

For the vast majority of users using chrome is like being a hipster. They do it because it is the 'cool' thing to do and don't want to be looked 'down upon' for not being 'cool'.

@Patranus

A little too assumptive, don't you think? So a lot of people are using Chrome because it's the "hip" thing to do? So, there's no reason why anyone would what Chrome's cross platform syncing or meshing with Google services? So, there's no difference between Safari and Chrome?

Please refrain yourself from fan boyism and putting other people down. And, I am not bashing Apple. I own an ipod, iphone, and a retina macbook pro.

Back on topic now.

I use Chrome because I love the cross platform syncing. I use Safari only when a website doesn't work with Chrome. I mean, Safari has come a long way, but it's too locked into Apple's ecosystem. I really don't get any benefit from using Safari if I am not using any i-devices.

I used to be an avid user of Firefox, but I grew tired of addons and flash tying up the single browser process. With Chrome, every tab is its own process and is managed by a master process. So, if one website just won't load or is buggy, it won't stop me from going to another tab or killing that one problematic tab. Of course Chrome does use more RAM, but I have an abundance of RAM. Unused RAM is wasted RAM and Chrome does do memory sharing and deduplicating between all tabs (and browser windows).

I never really got into using Opera. I tried it about 4 years ago, but it never caught on and I just dropped it. So, I really can't say much about Opera.

My preference is Chrome. I've been using it for quite a while now and I like it much better than Safari or Firefox.

chrome.

firefox lags for me, safari likes to crash every 10 minutes and chrome is just better than the alternatives. not that i have any problems with chrome, i love it.

I use safari, chrome, & chromium. Sometimes i have chrome and chromenium opened at the sometime, weird i know. I also have firefox installed but i don't use it, i don't like the fact that i can't pintch to zoom (don't want to chase plugins), i have opera installed but i have not really used it.
