Apple TV bricked

So last night around 1730 the power went out for about 1 min. About 2h later decided to update the Apple TV. During the update the farging power goes out again same as above.

So i now have a dead A-TV ... power light rapid blinking. Gen 3 i believe.

checked online for solution and tried to reset thru I-Tunes but it is driving me batshit crazy because i see nothing about the A-TV in I-Tunes.

I plugged the A-TV into the Macbook Air via the USB cable.

I unplugged everything like the instructions said. Tried it both with no power to A-TV and power. I see nothing in iTunes.

Do i have to plug into the Macbook and have the HDMI to TV connected? that is the one thing i did not do. The only thing i see on the TV is an iTunes icon and USB.

It might be thoroughly borked, something similar happened to mine. How old is it, it might be under warranty.

You can try putting it into DFU mode:

-Disconnect the HDMI, power and USB cables
-Wait for 10 seconds
-Reconnect the USB cable
-Immediately hold the menu and play buttons on the remote for 15 seconds (point it at the aTV obviously)
-Apple TV should now start flashing the LED wildly and appear in iTunes with the restore button.
