Apple to recall 1.8 million notebooks

I love every second of this, its called karma, put a rootkit on my cd will ya? Well, I guess this means around 6 million replacement batteries as a result. Karma is a bitch
 
wonder what other manufacturers are going to recall the batteries. Sony should make some statement showing where the blame is. Dell and Apple are losnig because of Sony.

Isn't sony the one that has to pay to have the batteries replaced?

You know how they reached the decision to do a recall to begin wtih, right?

I find this quote fittingly appropriate.

Narrator: A new car built by my company leaves somewhere traveling at 60 mph. The rear differential locks up. The car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside. Now, should we initiate a recall? Take the number of vehicles in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one.
