Apple store service

My kid took her MacBook Pro in today to get her KB fixed, the "Y" key fell off 10 minutes after she took it out of the box.

They didn't want to make her wait for them to replace the KB so they gave her a brand new computer and transferred her data for her. She said the person helping her was very nice about it and just handled the whole process with a smile.

That is how/what service should be like.

Nice to know you got a positive experience out of it. Some people didn't really get that, but personally, I find their tech support to be fairly friendly and immensely helpful.

i've yet to have a bad experience with apple service when i have a legit issue with their machines.

there's nothing better than knowing i can take my laptop into a nearby store if i have a problem and get it taken care of immediately, and if not, within 3-4 days - i don't know of any laptop purveyors that can do the same.

Had an iPhone 1 that burned itself to death somehow, after plugging it into a USB port to charge. Went to an Apple Store and they just gave me a new one, although the Genius servicing me was trying to put the blame on me by asking another if any of the scratches on the phone suggested a fatal drop.

I'm pretty sure Apple store employees have to handle a fair share of fraud so I don't blame them when they ask if I dropped it, etc....

On the plus side, the LCD on my iPhone had a stripe form down the screen and since it was within 1 year of purchase, they replaced the whole display on the phone in about 5 minutes for free.

It's definitely nice to be able to get a phone repair in minutes and not have to mail things back to a manufactor to get things fixed.

I take a fair amount of comfort out of knowing that there is an Apple store about 10 minutes from my apartment. I have had great experiences with the Genius Bar, and don't have anything negative to say. I know that there is one guy here that has a laundry list of problem from the Genius Bar, and I feel awful just because of how great Apple's CS has always been for me.

Also Logitech.

truth about logitech - i had a problems with some of my gaming mice, and they've replaced 2 of them for free. even gave me free replacement grips for my g9.

can't say the same about razer though. they continually shaft me, and have permanently lost my business. their cs and tech support just don't give a shit about customers.

Logitech customer support (and their superb scroll wheels) are why I keep buying them. Microsoft forgot how to make a good scrollwheel back in about 2004 or 2005. Kind of like how Apple never figured out how to make a good mouse in the first place.

Their trackpads though... oh god.

Did they securely wipe the data off her old computer right away?
