Those thieves are idiots. Apple surely must track the serial numbers of everything they have on display.

What makes you assume they are idiots? Just because Apple tracks the serial numbers doesn't necessarily mean they will get caught. There are numerous ways to offload the merchandise without leaving some sort of paper trail. It is the poor shmoe who buys the stuff at a price too good to be true that will be the true idiot.

They stole 23 Macbook Pros, 14 Iphones and 9 Ipod touches in 31 seconds without leaving authorities much hope to go on. If they can even get 50% of retail on those items (which is more than reasonable), they will have made off like bandits (literally).

I don't think many would pay 50% for a used one with no box, manual, accessories, OSX disc, or even a power-plug.

if they sold everything they got for $100 each(who /wouldn't/ pay that), it would be $4,600. Not bad for less than a minute of work.

Edit:
That's $552,000 per hour. If I got a job making that kind of money, I'd work 1 hour per year :^D

LOL Action News... the highest rated local network news in the Philadelphia area. And yeah, Dan Cuellar went a little heavy with his narration.

I almost miss watching those guys since moving out of the area.

You overestimate MacHeads.

MacHeads willingly pay full price; therefore they do not buy used.

That was the most sensationalistic presentation ever, from the 1 minute of hype before showing the break in up to the laughable commentary. If I listened to another minute of it, my head probably would've burst into flames.

Like I said, I almost miss that shite. LOLZ

rofl, yep that's Action News of Philly. I used to drive 73 a lot growing up and was held up at gunpoint while working graveyard shift at a quickie mart. Not surprising that thieves are getting smarter, they only got $40 from us. I sure don't miss the crack addicts and hookers that pollute that highway (toward Maple Shade/Camden - two townships over from this breakin).

Of course in this profession having a "bad day at the office" means you get shipped off to federal pound me in the ass prison.

Man if those guys put that much effort into a job they'd probably do pretty well...

Oh wait, that'd be to hard, right?

1) why no metal gate after closing time... glass is nice for customers, but when there are no customers, drop a gate.

2) merchandise should be locked to the tables even during business hours.

This!

And what's up with the announcer? LOL. "Look at the skill as they break through the glass window!"

The anchorman is looking at his producer asking, "why did we hire this dick?" I was expecting Billy Haze to come back from the dead and tell me they cleaned their masks with oxy clean after the incident.
