It's kinda like - Storm Tracker 3000, except doesn't cover the Weather.

Pros, yeah I guess maybe. Seems to me you'd just have to visit the store a couple times and learn where the cameras and merchandise are setup. Not exactly rocket science.

And to think, that was a $40,000 job right there if the go at retail. When I was watching the video, I couldn't help but think that hollywood could learn a thing or two from that video.

PROFESSIONAL ENTRY JOB

I bet it took a lot of practice to throw an object through a glass door?

seriously, the guy came running in like his pants were about to fall off. he probably loosened his belt while eating some donuts when they caught him off guard.

Those thieves are idiots. Apple surely must track the serial numbers of everything they have on display.

haha yeah, just like they surely would've put a metal gate at closing when the only thing between tens of thousands of laptops and ipods out in the open is a thin sheet of glass.

Now they are going to have to buy a whole ton of power plugs. :D Might be able to nail them on that... The mag safe chargers only aided in their ability to quickly remove them from the displays. I can't believe the reporter called them "artists." Anyway, it makes sense that "artists" would be attracted to an Apple Store. :p

Security guards are supposed to detect, deter, and report. Usually their only authorized tool/method for deterrence is their presence which, obviously, wasn't enough. They are not officers of the law and they do not have the same options. What exactly were you expecting him to do? The only thing left was to report which I'm sure he reported everything.

Aren't they mostly USB cables that set off an alarm when unplugged? The iTouches and iPhones have a dinky little slug glued on the back that probably popped right off.
