Buying when the AppleINC stock is weak looks like it could be smart move. It is expected that revenues will rise to more than 30% in FY 00 (Sep.), and 20% in FY 01, as results benefit from new hardware and software launches.
Apple, which has been successful in the consumer market with its iMac computer, has recently also launched a new lineup with new fEatures. The company's high-end products, the PowerMac G4 and PowerBook, have also been doing well in professional market. ANd dont forget it will probably be even further broadened with the recent mid-range release called the "G4 Cube," that funky looking 8-inch miniaturized mini-tower. Looks pretty cool!! People these days just looking to buy a computer, not build, are thrilled by cute little pretty computers, even though they have not the slightest clue what's inside. But hey, who comprises the majority of the market...dumb ass consumers!!!
I guess they're saying we should expect gross margins to approximate 27%, as Apple balances its sales mix, component pricing pressure, and high-margin opportunities in non-computer revenues such as software, Internet access and financing. That's the basic low down. Good luck with your decisions.
It's been BULLISH since August...now what did we learn in those econ classes boys and girls? Picking up some stocks for just over $25 seems pretty good to me, especially when the stock was $75 at one point within the last 52 weeks.
I would also look into Microsoft...now that it's at ~60 (down from ~92 only 5 months ago) you can expect to see a gradual rise as Gates gets him composure back after those blows from Sherman antitrust rulings. Gates has also invested in a number of other ventures, such as cable and telecom companies. MSFT's many Internet properties are experiencing rapid revenue growth, both from advertising and from e-commerce. With the next platform "whistler" to be released within next 4 quarters, expect microsoft to gain a complete upperhand. They will fight the Sherman Antitrust violation ruling to the end! That's just what I feel. If you should know, I'm putting down 7-9 shares of Microsoft. My two cents! Good luck with all your business ventures guys!
