Apple is the one company that can basically put crap in a box, slap on the apple brand icon, and sell it in droves thanks to the reality distortion field that Jobs was so famous for effecting.

I feel that apple are still profiting from the "jobs" effect you describe. It has only been a year since his death (and a few months longer since he was on "medical leave"). As a giant tech company everything that apple has done since would have been signed off before he stopped having an input and unstoppable by whoever took over from him. Give it another 12 months and we will see what apple are going to do to justify their huge (and in my opinion vastly over rated) share price.
