This is the most retarded thing I've heard. Obviously this is something you can not prove. God I don't think a Mac user would call PC users idiots. God this is so f__king stupid I'm just going to let it go..

End your self.

Keep it up. Hopefully you and your "brother" will get banned again.

For a person who has no life and spent over 6 years here, I'm surprised you've failed to distinguish the difference between 'banned' and 'vacationed'... how sad.
You are so predictable. Keep it coming, though! :)

I think he enjoys insulting people, mainly. If you try to be completely reasonable like you are in this post and continue not attacking him I fail to see how he could successfully continue to insult us (and apparently the entire Apple userbase).

Like I said before Goku, lighten up man. :)

I pretty much have no respect for someone who willingly purchases an apple computer, they're just as bad as the people who choose bose. It's really as simple as that.

really? why? is it really bad if people purchase apple computers instead of computers with windows on them? they just have 2 different os's on them, different casing, different components (G4/G5)...etc. so what if people purchase that, i dont think you should stop respecting someone if they buy apple. our family has a powerbook G4, as well as several PC's, so would you stop respecting us? i doubt it. that is a stupid reason not to show respect to someone.

Why do other people's purchases bother you personally?

Really step back and take a look at what you're saying here, seriously. I'm not trying to be condescending at all to you or say that you're totally batty, just really think about what you just said.

A common mantra is that things can never make one happy; conversly, other people's things should probably not make one unhappy. :)

Here is my honest opinion :

1 - OS X isn't as practical OS as the other OS's out there, I'll take Linux or heck even fckn Windows over OS X any day.
2 - Are you guys serious about the Thinkpad vs MBP comparison ? Thinkpads are the most advanced consumer notebooks in the world it will take more than a magnetic AC port and girlish designs to convince me about the MBP.
3 - If bad ass Lumber Jacks and Pirates had to use Laptops it would most definitely be a Thinkpads No?
4 - Who would want a to pay $1999 for a MacBook and use it as a Windows laptop and it only has one mouse button ?Money well spent eh?
5 - I will never support Apple with my own money by buying their crappy products, they are a company with no principles, they will just go with the tide and take it up the poop chute. And I thought Bill Gates was full of sht , but no nothing in comparison to Steve Blow-Jobs, so their systems running the same hardware as every PC out there are still superior, and when they are running IBM RISC processors they are still superior WOW they have both scenarios covered very well nice jobs snakes.
6- IBM is a company that stands by its promise to the community, promotes open source operating systems and fckn supports them, and helps in the development of opens source OS's all over any comparison between them and the knob-gobblers at Apple is absolutely ridiculous.
7- Apple is so full of sht along with it's posers.

You're kidding, right?

4) ther are ways around that and having one mouse button isn't the end of the world

5) how is that a fact?

6) IBM sure might be devoted to the compunity and such, but one key point: IBM no longer makes desktops or thinkpads:D

7) .....

You have some valid points, and some outright attacks.

Regardless, I'll respond to one of your valid points...having a one button mouse.

For myself, the only time where I would boot into windows on a macbook pro would be when I was at a desk, with another mouse handy. Windows is good on a Mac for 2 reasons (again, for me): I can play windows games, and I can run pro software under no emulation.

For both of those situations, I would be at a desk where I would have another LCD, Mouse, and Keyboard. If you were going to be on the road using windows, and bought a Macbook pro, you are correct in saying that a 1 button mouse would annoy windows users. It would certianly annoy me. In OSX, however, a 1 button mouse is fine. That would likely drive some people away though.

Your other points are all pretty much attacks, or otherwise moot, so I'm not really going to respond, other than to say that IBM is actually a pretty bad company now, and new management (within the last 15 years) has basically destroyed their employee's state of mind and well being, as well as the communities around them. They're all about their bottom line now, which is understandable, but unfortunate.

People are free to choose though, remember that. It's unfortunate that some people judge others using the criterion of product purchases.

Reading my points above I have to admit that I intended for some of them to be kind of sarcastic, but reading it, it looks like straight out attacks, sorry about that but I thought the bad ass Lumber Jacks and Pirates comment would give my sarcasm away :)

Any way it's true what you say about IBM mostly, but you look at Thinkpad and how far IBM pushed this product and it just amazes you what technologies has been developed for the Thinkpad that no other manufacturer would have dreamed off having, but hey it's pretty sad to see IBM lose that, but hey sht happens, but still Thinkpads are unmatched IMHO

Glad to see that you are sensible ;).

I agree about thinkpads being well built, I've owned a T23 (that actually was a defective POS, but a well built one), and a T43 which is also solid.

Their R&D is basically unmatched, for sure.

Alright troll, I really don't get why you care so passionately about people owning Macs. Why are you threatened by this so much that you have to come in and bust everyone's chops for wanting to buy one. I plan on buying a MacBookPro since it offers the best quality and performance for the money. I plan on running OSX since I prefer Linux at work. Am I a tool now? Am I stupid?

Yes. Ever heard of the thinkpad? With your logic, it appears you didn't. I know plenty of people who own apple notebooks (Ibook and Powerbook), their build quality is good initially but after a while, like most things from apple, it tends to rear it's ugly head when reality sits in and you realize that you've just purchased an overpriced product from apple.

Apparently reading comprehension isn't taught in schools anymore. To make it easier for you, I'll just re-post what I said earlier:
...but for the money, you'd be hard pressed to find another laptop that beats it [the MacBookPro]. The only thing I know that comes close is the new Acer, but it too is $2500. I'd rather get Apple's build-quality and support over Acer for that much money. The Lenovo T60P also does a great job competing, but it's also $500-$1000 more expensive.
The T60p is a nice machine, but for >$500 less, I can get a high quality, sexy machine AND another nice OS.
I think the real problem is you and mango-boy are just jealous you can't afford a nice machine and resort to attacking people who can, in the misguided attempt to bring them down to your level. I'm sorry but that's not going to work. We'll continue on enjoying using our laptops dual-booting OS X and XP (for games not for real work) while you muck around with your basement bargain piece-meal PCs and pirated software.

Saw a demo of FEAR being run on an apple with XP installed, one of the new iMacs. Aside from needing more than 512MB of ram, it looked freakin tight.

Just in the spirit of discussion, what kind of amazing technology are IBM putting into their laptop? I ask because I'm interested to see if any of that fits my needs. I know that they came up with that fall detection thing ( if the laptop falls, the motion sensor detects it and shutdown the hard drive) and licensed it to Apple. I also know that they have finger print system in their higher end laptop (my dad has one, and that thing costs more than a MBP for sure).

Anything else interesting in there?

Actually, T-Series vs. MacBook Pro.

After similar configuration, T-Series is cheaper, but features can still be argued.

I like how their antennas are mounted (for wifi etc.), gives excellent signal, one time I hooked up a PCMCIA wifi card to the laptop to see if I'd get better signal and turns out I got practically NO signal what so ever, realizing how good the antennas are on the thinkpads. I believe the IBM laptops are supporting WI-max(sp?) now, IBM seems to always be ahead of the game when it comes to things like this.. They use a magnesium alloy frame, therefore reducing the use of plastics in the laptop significantly, allowing it to be lighter, stronger and less bulky. Problem with the aluminium or 'titanium' laptops apple has is that it's so thing, that it in general bends when you place something on it, completely defeating the purpose of it.. There is also the other features like the hard disk shutting down when detecting a fall etc..
