I don't jailbreak to use pirated apps. I bought ALL of mine legit through the itunes store .. I do JB so i can run apps like Notifer/Reminder and Popup Blocker that do things that the iphone should be doing out of the box. 3GUnrestrictor is another one that I use for my skype calls to Europe.

Seconded! I just want to enable functionality that should have been my choice to enable/disable in the first place. I love the iPhone interface, but I still can't quite 100% buy into a platform that restricts my choice. I find myself settling for a less than stellar UI experience on my Tilt with Windows Mobile more often than using my iPhone for this reason. I would definitely NOT use an Iphone that wasn't jailbreakable.

They'll stop laughing when they see 100,000 phones returned and new sales slow to a crawl.

Um, no. Jailbreakers are a laughable minority of iPhone users, and the people who would return their phones because they can't do it is even smaller.
