So I'm here trying to manage my playlists on my ipod and notice that my machine is getting sluggish. The only app really taxing my system is itunes. I'm watching my cpu usage peg on 100% both cores and all I'm trying to do is manage my playlists and sync the ipod to my pc. I've never experienced this before while doing this and was wondering if this latest update is responsible and if anyone else has noticed this. Once I close itunes my system returns to normal. I suppose apple did this on purpose to punish all of us non apple pc users. I hate this freakin ipod management through itunes. They should offer drag and drop via windows explorer.

Bloatfree alternatives to bloated programs

Vpod
[*]Tiny Open Source program that will load songs onto your ipod without installing itunes. (works with stock ipod firmware)

ROCKbox firmware
[*]Drag and drop music, photos, and music from windows explorer without installing ANY software on the PC.
[*]Allows the ipod to play FLAC and other audio formats
[*]Supports dual boot to apple firmware and RockBox (if you want to use the apple firmware with your accessories, although rockbox does support several ipod accessories).
