apple itunes account

My wife has been getting random apple itunes emails to her email address but with the name of a friends ex-husband. So, the idiot used my wife's email to set up his itunes account, but picked my wife's email.
I have no idea why he picked my wife's email. The thought is maybe he meant to pick his ex-wife's and grabbed my wife's since they are next to each other in the address book??

Anyway, we have contacted the ex-wife (about 5 times) to have her let the guy know that he needs to change his itunes email address since my wife is sick of getting his e-receipts and stuff.
The response from the ex-husband was a big "fuck you bitch".
Well, I don't care what the guy thinks about his ex. I take that comment as a big fuck you to my wife and I'll be damned, but no one is allowed to talk to her like that.

So, since I am sick of this shit, I'm going to just use the forgot password feature and change the damn password and info myself.

I've now updated all the info using my name, address, phone number, etc. Why the person couldn't just leave well enough alone and cancel/change the account linked to my wife's email address is beyond me. How difficult would it be for him to have changed the address to some yahoo or hotmail account? They are free.

So, all info has been updated and I used a randomly generated alpha-numeric password.

I know the guy doesn't have access to my wife's password since we changed that after the first itunes email we got a few months ago (also used a random alpha-numeric).
What a douche. I gave him fair opportunities to make some changes. Too late now.

I have no idea what his email is. We have tried not only contacting him through his ex-wife, we have also tried through friends of friends (hey, tell jason to change his apple id since he is using my wife's). Each avenue has hit a deadend.
The fact that he told his ex-wife to fuck off is stupid. He could have changed the id easily enough. You would think after she asked him a few times he would just make the change.

I've deleted all credit card info on file and everything. It is basically a dead account now. I want nothing to do with it. I just want the damn emails to stop.

i have been getting many other persons email to my account. Mine is a gmail account with a dot in it, even though gmail says that dot doesnt count for routing purposes & no duplicate email ID's exist.
I have gotten some one's ez pass statement, some random person's wife writing to her husband, & many of them sending there resume's for a job opening & many more random emails from random people.

Awesomeness, good going

He gave him opportunity, he is the asshole. OP is just teaching him a lesson that he obviously needs taught

Request to have the password to the itunes account be sent to her email address.

Access account and change the password on him so that it's now yours.

Profit!

aye...I think that train of thought would be an automatic response to such an exploitable badly-crafted exploitation.

We did do the "I forgot password" link. Email was sent to my wife.
I then went into the account and deleted all of his info and put my name/number for the required info.
First thing I noticed is you can change the id to whatever email you want. That then changes your apple id. Why he didn't do this months ago after asked is beyond me.
The account is dead to him now. No way to change anything.

Wonder if I should change the email address to one of my spam email ones?
That mean my wife's email is linked to the new email as an id and can never be used again?

Yeah, I got my gmail account when invites were still very valuable so I picked a good email address. I get so much junk meant for other people. At first I would try to reply back saying they sent it to the wrong address, but then I gave up. Some people really think they have my account though because every so often I get a confirmation to reset the password.

Make sure you also deauthorize all authorized computers, so all his downloaded music becomes worthless (would happen anyways if he got a new computer or reloaded his existing one)
