They also have a $15 off $200 coupon for new customers (Google or check out the various deals sites) brining the cost down to $219.60 plus shipping - slightly better than the Amazon deal. The price on Buy.com has been changing, so it may or may not be this cheap when you click on the link.

Amazon has the 10GB Apple iPod for only $236.54 with free shipping. Cheapest price on Pricegrabber is $250 plus shipping. Make sure you buy it through Amazon, because once they are sold out it will show a higher price for Circuity City or Target.
 
I've been looking at clearence prices for the 10GB ipod for the past few days. This is probably the best deal (since it has free shipping, and no tax). Got one!

Yeah, what's the deal here. Apple store charges tax in all 50 states - just remember while it doesn't show throughout the checkout stage, your final confirmation displays tax.

Apple will only charge you tax if there is an actual Apple Store B&M in your state.

ended up ordering one through the academic discount. came out to 292.67 shipped after tax.. the discount pretty much cancelled the tax. but the free engraving is cool.. should be a nice gift to my sister.
