I'm pretty sure that it's his auction, and not something he's bidding on.

He's selling it methinks, and your shipping costs are pretty low considering how much that thing has to weigh.

Considering I linked to a specs page, I highly doubt that...besides, no Idiot would actually believe that a puter from 1985 has an 800gb hdd

The user isn't required to leave the auction page. You clearly have it listed as 800GB, and that's the only reason people are bidding so high.

Who cares what the idiot believes? It's your auction and you're responsible for the accuracy of the contents. No 800GB = you commiting fraud. Cancel the auction, otherwise you're going to be paying the shipping both ways on a no sale when this thing comes back to you.

not really, considering there is a link to the specs page. no intent to deceive = no fraud.

His main specs listing says 800 GB. The bidder isn't responsible for checking out the specs page, he's responsible for checking out the listing.

right, and if ebay automatically 'corrected' it to 'GB' and 'MB' on the hdd and ram respectively, he had no intent to deceive (especially since he links to a proper specs page) and so there is no fraud. now that he's had notice of the error he does need to pull it, though.

I honestly doubt eBay made that mistake, but having no auction experience, I can't say for sure. Either way, the seller is responsible for contacting eBay and having the auction pulled, then they can sort out the error.

I wonder how much my old IBM PCjr would go for. I still have the monitor, keyboard, joystick, cartrages, and tons of floppies and it still works. A lot of the floppies have gone bad though.

Right, but regardless of ebay's rules, the OP is not committing fraud. This would probably hold true in court.
